The $560-million University of British Columbia’s (UBC) Lower Mall Precinct Phase One project is the province’s largest funded housing project. Key components include an 18-storey residential tower, an eight-storey hybrid mass timber prototype, and the adaptive reuse of UBC’s historic fire hall.

The project aims for net-zero operational emissions by 2035, adheres to UBC’s LEED Implementation Guide, and targets LEED Gold certification. The design emphasizes sustainability through carbon resilience, biodiversity enhancement, responsible water management, and the thoughtful selection of materials that support occupant health and well-being.
