Whitehorse General Hospital Expansion utilizes modular steel construction

This two storey steel expansion to the existing hospital building is constructed using a steel modular system allowing fit out of the buildings mechanical and electrical systems prior to shipping and on site erection.

Steel modular racks were prefabricated and fit out locally prior to shipping.  This strategy has shortened on site erection time of steel structure and building services.  The reduced erection time has allowed for a quicker closing on of the building envelope in the shortened summer months of this northern climate.  This quick erection and enclosure time significantly reduces the construction costs associated heating and hoarding the building over the long winters.
