UBC – ICICS/CS Facility


A six-storey, 90,000 square foot classroom and laboratory facility and an adjacent lecture pavilion. Concrete slab and slab band construction with steel roofs and elevated bridge links to an existing building. Heavy timber roofs clear-spanning lecture theatres. The first use of in-slab radiant heating and cooling in an institutional research facility in B.C. Unique cantilevered concrete stairs in glass cores at each end of the building. Ductile concrete shear walls to minimize restriction on future flexibility. Extensive use of raised floor systems.Located in the south campus area close to the proposed Pharmacy site.
