Mar Jok Elementary

Description:

A new 350 student elementary school in a two-storey configuration with adjacent gym and administration block. Includes neighbourhood and learning spaces and 21st Century Learning design approach. The school was constructed using cast-in-place flat slab construction for the 2nd floor of the classroom block, structural steel framing for the administration block and tilt-up concrete panels for the gymnasium. Feature wood roofs were provided over the classroom block, multi-purpose room, community room, and gymnasium. Lateral mechanical distribution through the classroom block was delivered using a service corridor below grade with openings to vertical risers.

The design and construction schedule for this project was tight and by close collaboration and coordination with the other consultants, provided detailed and coordinated construction documents.
