Vancouver Community Colllege – King Edward Expansion

A 120,000 ft2 expansion to the Vancouver Community College King Edward Campus constructed using concrete flat slabs over 7 storeys. Comprises two blocks connected with a multi-storey atrium with feature stairs and timber skylight roof. The facility houses teaching, laboratory, nursing program, offices, book store, retail, and student commons. There is a roof-level child daycare centre. Structural challenges included the sloping soft soils site and integration into the existing facility. Fast track tender of structural packages.
